3. Bring Back Felix Leiter
Felix Leiter makes a disappointingly small appearance in the film version of Live and Let Die, all the more so because in the novel, Fleming has him be thrown into a shark tank, where he is horribly maimed, losing both an arm and a leg. This plot point wasn't used in the films until the notoriously brutal License to Kill, and though it might not go over well with audiences to recycle this in a contemporary Bond film, Leiter's presence really is a must if they're going to adapt the novel even half faithfully. Jeffrey Wright's fleeting performances as the agent in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were great fun, and he was sorely missed in Skyfall - even though his appearance would probably have felt shoehorned in - which is something that should totally be rectified for Bond 24. Of course, as mentioned earlier, his presence would help to cement Bond as a more human character, giving him someone in place of Judi Dench's M who he bonds with, if this role isn't taken up by Ralph Fiennes' M at the outset.
