Bond 24 Wishlist: 10 Things That Must Happen

1. (A Few) Gadgets

One of the distinguishing features of the newly rebooted Bond is the focus on more gritty and grounded action, such that the campy gadgets from previous films, nanely invisible cars and pen guns, have been toned down in favour of more practical, believable technology. It's a smart move for a series trying to be taken (mostly) seriously these days, and given the massive box office receipts of Skyfall in particular, it seems like a canny choice. Still, the introduction of a young Q (Ben Whishaw) has naturally opened the door for Bond to dabble with some more gadgetry in the next film, and while we don't want Mendes and co. to go over the top, having some fancy proprietary (but believable) tech for Bond to toy around with wouldn't exactly go amiss. We're not looking for something as silly as, say, the glove and shield tech from the last Mission: Impossible film, but just devices that will be fun to watch Bond use out in the field. As with pretty much everything in this new era of Bond flicks, balance is the key, and given his splendid work on Skyfall, we trust Sam Mendes implicitly. What do you want to see in Bond 24?
