Bond 25: 5 Things From Previous Daniel Craig Films It Must Continue (And 4 It Must Avoid)

3. AVOID: Unrealistic Evil Lairs

Daniel Craig-James Bond
Columbia Pictures/MGM

In the early parts of the Craig saga, nobody knew what form the secret organisation would take. The revelation that it would indeed be Spectre after all, had fans salivating across the world. The payoff was finally here.

Alas, though, it could have been better. The binding of the three previous films was a fantastic move which the long-term fans deserved. But the execution was underwhelming. Christoph Waltz played a decent enough Blofeld. But the eccentricity of his base of operations was a tad silly given all the grittiness the previous films had set up.

What's that you say? The base was blown to Kingdom-come and therefore not the true Spectre headquarters? Well, that might the case, but that didn't make it any less ridiculous. Just keep in mind that the supposed criminal mastermind tied up MI6's most dangerous operative and didn't even take his watch off.

Even Sean Bean knew that Bond's watches were dangerous. Please avoid this in the next and final film and replace with some long-awaited substance. What form that takes is for the writers to decide, but overused cliches just won't cut it.
