Sacha Baron Cohen, the star of
Borat has a cousin ya know... and apparentaly he directs films. Small films mind you, 6 in fact, but in those movies he has worked with the likes of
James Woods,
Burt Reynolds and
Mischa Barton. The guy's name is
Ash Baron Cohen and according to
Variety, his 7th film will be
Poor Things with screen veterans
Shirely MacLaine and
Olympia Dukakis in talks to top line. Poor Things is "
inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for various "grandma gang" exploits, which have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder". Poor Things is a fun title, but I can't help but feel disappointed it won't be called Grandma Gang! This sounds like a little bit of light hearted fun and Shirley MacLaine was wonderful in
In Her Shoes a while back, her comedic timing is still spot on! The movie is budgeted around the $5 to $10 million mark and is the first of five movies to be produced by Still Rolling in the next three years. source -
