Bourne 5: 5 Ways It Can Continue The Saga

1. Jason Bourne And Aaron Cross Working Together

Bourne I think whether it is is Bourne 5 or 6, we need the return of Jason Bourne to tie everything together in the audience's minds. Aaron Cross works as a new hero, but his predecessor is going to hang over him like a shadow. In the last film it was kind of deliberate. We got glimpses of Jason Bourne's actions in New York, tying The Bourne Legacy to The Bourne Ultimatum, but at some point we will need more. If it is in this film, I don't think Jason Bourne should appear until at least half way through. Aar0n Cross needs to own this film, as he did the last one if audiences are going to recognise him as a leading character and not substitute for the main thing. Jeremy Renner has provided good supporting action roles in The Avengers and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (my favourite yet). But the Bourne films are his chance to lead. That being said, Jason Bourne has to make his return at some point and that's when we need to see both men working together against their common enemy. Of course it will be edgy. (Will they trust each other at first? Probably not) And we'll get some great comments over who is better. But at the end of the day we need to see them both united, kicking ass. And that will retrospectively give The Bourne Legacy a purpose - to widen the story before the final showdown. So what are your thoughts? Did you enjoy the fresh take on the saga with The Bourne Legacy? And do you like Jeremy Renner as the new action hero? Or will you only be interested in another Bourne film if Matt Damon comes back?
