BOURNE ULTIMATUM duo in CRY OF THE OWL

Julia Stiles will play a woman who falls in love with her stalker (Paddy Considine) but is also the target of revenge from her ex-lover (Scott Speedman).

The Bourne Ultimatum) and Julia Stiles (who added nothing to the movie) have both signed on for roles in Cry of the Owl, a production that is ready to go ahead from BBC Films & Myriad Pictures. Stiles replaces Sarah Polley who had originally attached herself to the movie but had to pull out because of scheduling conflicts. Cry of the Owl comes from a 1960's novel by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley) and has been adapted for the screen by writer/director Jamie Thraves'. Stiles will play a woman who falls in love with her stalker Paddy Considine. Speed Racer actor Scott Speedman (who recently auditioned for JLA) will play her jilted ex lover who makes things worse for Stiles when he plots revenge against her! The movie should begin filming next week in Toronto. Sounds typical 'Talented Mr. Ripley'-ish story but of course Stiles' talents as a leading actress have yet to be proven. I fear Considine and Speedman may have to carry the movie here at times, but I love the idea of this film.
