Breaking Bad Movie: 10 Things That Must Happen
3. How's The White Family Holding Up?
When we last checked in on Walter’s wife and children, things weren’t going all that well. Forced to move into a shabby apartment and constantly hounded by the DEA, things are more bleak for Skyler, Walter Jr., and Holly than ever. The end of the show’s fifth season saw Walter attempting to reconcile with his wife while simultaneously admitting his faults, but Skyler’s fate is ultimately unknown.
While it doesn’t have anything to do with Jesse, viewers need to know what became of the family Walt initially fought so hard to protect. Their lives are in shambles - casualties in Heisenberg’s reckless battle for personal supremacy - and it only seems right that dedicated fans would finally get to know how this whole ordeal wraps up for them.
Both Walt Jr. and Skyler clearly hate Walter’s guts by the end of the series - his son’s disdain-fueled phone conversation made particularly hard to watch - but could Walter’s son ever take steps toward forgiving his father? It’s hard to say, but that would be an interesting narrative to explore in the upcoming movie. Walter’s actions may have hurt his family, but he at least made an attempt to set things right in the end.
