Breaking Bad Movie: 10 Things That Must Happen
2. My Baby Blue
This may not sound like the most important aspect of Breaking Bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s worth questioning just what became of Albuquerque after the end of the series. With Heisenberg seemingly out of the picture, tons of other cartels must be scrambling to fill the power void, and that could spell trouble for those left to pick up the pieces.
As with any beloved television or film narrative, there’s always someone out there who wants to advance the theory that the whole thing was an allegory for hell, and that Walter White suffered as he did because he was meant to repent for past sins. That surely isn’t what’s going on, but the deserts of New Mexico certainly feel like an adequate setting for hyperbole of this nature. Yet, the viewer almost comes to feel bad for the city following all the trauma Heisenberg has indirectly inflicted, and some want to know what’s coming next.
Will another drug lord lay claim to the territory? Will the DEA become less effective as a result of the loss of Hank? Can there ever really be a true victor in this never-ending fight?
