Brittany Murphy travels to The Other Side

Brittany Murphy is to star in a weird Lost meets The Wicker Man meets Hot Fuzz movie known as The Other Side which makes the directorial debut of producer David Michaels. Look at this cast guys... Jason Lee, Giovanni Ribisi, Jim Broadbent, Tim Roth, Lili Taylor (and the following according to IMDB) Anjelica Huston, Eddie Izzard and Rupert Friend.

Script by Michaels and Phil Reeves centers on a young grad student, to be portrayed by Murphy, who must spend the summer working at a scientific institute on a remote northern island. She discovers an eccentric community of characters who are hiding a secret about a terrible tragedy that took place many years before.
I love movies where there's a mysterious community of characters who are keeping a dark secret from the 'traveling stranger' who is invading their land. Obviously Broadbent is perfect for this like he was in Hot Fuzz and Roth, Ribisi and Izzard can play crazy and dark as well as anybody. Variety report that filming is set to begin in November and this could potentially could be really fun.
