Bruce Willis: 5 More Awesome Performances And 5 More That Sucked

4. Harry Stamper - Armageddon (1998)

Armageddon is a terrible film. It's the movie that people are thinking of when they complain about loud, brash Hollywood blockbusters with no regard for sense or logic. It takes every ridiculous cinematic cliché and crams them into one poorly-written film, utterly devoid of intelligence (and far too po-faced to be the good fun that it wants to be). At the heart of it all is Bruce Willis, who really does feel like he's trying, but there's only so much that can be done with material like this. Action stars are often known for cranking out terrible action movie after terrible action movie after an initial handful of hits make them famous: this is one of the ways in which Bruce differs from his peers. His taste in projects is usually very good. It's just a shame that something like Armageddon has to exist admist his filmography.
