Bumblebee: 8 Reasons Why It Will Be The Best Transformers Film Ever

1. A Genuine Love For The Source Material

Perhaps most importantly of all, Bumblebee looks to be a film made by people who genuinely care about the source material and the Transformers as characters in their own right.

It's no real secret that Bay never particularly cared for or about the source material; he simply saw the first film as a chance to make the kind of big-budget action sequences he loves and then saw the sequels as chances to make lots and lots of money.

Travis Knight, on the other hand, is a self-professed Transformers fan. He grew up playing with the toys and reportedly pushed continuously for the film to lean hard into the nostalgia and wonder he felt towards the animated series. Heck, at the Comic-Con panel for the film, he even had Stan Bush play The Touch live while they screened a recut version of the trailer.

Whereas Bay actively grew to hate the property with each passing sequel, Knight adores it. Between the faithful designs, the '80s setting, and the genuine care poured into the craft of this film, Knight and co. look to have made a film that will finally give fans the live-action film they've always dreamt of.
