Captain America 2 Ending: 11 Big Implications For Marvel Phase 3

3. Black Widow's Definitely Will Be

When Black Widow uploads all of HYDRA's dirty secrets onto the internet, she also outs herself as a former villain (or at least an instrument of evil) and everyone in the world gets to see the red in her ledger that she mentioned to Loki in The Avengers. So What Next? Black Widow is unlikely to get her own movie - just as Hawkeye isn't going to get a stand-alone any time soon - or so Kevin Feige has suggested. BUT, Scarlett Johansson's performance as Romanov has been remarkably well received, and she commands more than enough star power to warrant her own movie, especially with the added intrigue of having her dark past throw up some long-forgotten "old friends." Take Barton with her (and possibly Maria Hill and Falcon) to make for an Avengers Supporting Members team-up movie, and you have another opportunity to flesh out Phase 3. It's way too smart of Marvel's writers to have set up the dark past in Avengers, and then develop it in Winter Soldier without us getting to see a resolution, and that must surely come outside of the Avengers movies, considering how over-stuffed they're already likely to be.
