Captain America: Civil War - 10 Biggest Last Minute Concerns

5. There's Too Much Padding

One of the biggest concerns coming out of the reviews is that so many of them talk about two big set-pieces and not a great deal more. We know the film opens with a bang and then closes with one of the greatest comic book movie scenes ever made, but what about what comes between those two?

Is the rest of the film spent watching the heroes coming to terms with restrictions or being haunted by moralising and poor decision-making? Will there be too much focus on Vision's quest to be human, or on trying to make Agent 13 fit? It's hard not to worry there's some padding, particularly when even positive reviews mention the first half being a little over-drawn.

CineVue suggest those worries might be founded: "The problem then, perhaps, is that the Russo brothers - now locked in for two more Avengers: Infinity War sequels - insist on far too many samey Bourne-style chase-chat-fight scenes, padding out Civil War to a whopping two-and-a-half hours (including credits)."
