Captain America: Civil War - 10 Biggest Last Minute Concerns

6. It Doesn't Outdo The Winter Soldier

Even though it currently sits on 97%, and has thus out-performed the majority of the MCU, there's a sneaking suspicion that Civil War fails to outstrip the last film in the series, which is fatal on a very basic level for any franchise. In simple terms, the third film in a series has to be at least better than the second one, or it's not worth it - those are the kind of binary terms that audiences operate in.

From a considerable number of the reviews out in the wild, it looks like Civil War would struggle to outstrip The Winter Soldier, which is somewhat inevitable considering how critically adored that film was.

But that's a little disappointing. Considering the influx of other superheroes, the bigger budget and the scope for more set-pieces - and that's not to mention the adaptation of one of Marvel's most famous event arcs - outdoing The Winter Soldier should be the least we can hope for. As much as I love that sequel, Civil War feels like it deserves to be more substantial and better.
