Captain America: Civil War - 10 Controversial Ways It Could End

6. Iron Man Becomes Director Of SHIELD

With apologies to Agents of SHIELD and acting director Alphonso Mackenzie, Kevin Feige doesn€™t really care about the TV side of the MCU and would be more than happy to uproot their plans and continuity if it better served the movies.

What better way to mix things up than to put the poster boy for doing whatever he wants in charge of a massive security agency. It would be a huge departure for the Tony Stark we know, but since it happened in the comics, it€™s not totally unprecedented.

A move like this would really affect a lot of different aspects of the MCU. It would change how Agents Of SHIELD operates, it would likely remove Iron Man from any combat for the foreseeable future, and it doesn€™t seem like a logical choice for those people in charge to give him so much power.

There is a possibility that this is where Tony ends up at the end of the movie, but that doesn€™t mean it€™s where most people want him to.
