Captain America: Civil War - 10 MCU Problems It Needs To Fix

8. ...And HYDRA

Like S.H.I.E.L.D., you really can't have a Marvel universe without HYDRA being in it - they're the ultimate organisation of evil in the comic books after all. Sure, Grant Ward is rebuilding the organisation in television's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it's a pitiful shadow of its former self. An entity that once boasted villains like the Red Skull and Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, weapons powered by the Tesseract and the Mind Stone, thousands of dedicated troops and secret bases all around the world, is now a handful of human flunkies. With Baron Helmut Zemo set to be a key villain in Captain America: Civil War - a character strongly associated with HYDRA in the comic books - one would hope that his arrival signals the re-emergence of the organisation in a form more recognisable to comic book and comic book movie fans. The idea of a nefarious threat, with the mantra of "if one head is cut off, two more will take its place", looming over the heroes of the MCU at all times makes so many things possible in future movies. In a nutshell, it sucks not having HYDRA around.
