Captain America: Civil War - 10 MCU-Shattering Outcomes That Fans Want To See

3. Iron Man No More

Tony Stark has hinted at the idea of giving up on being Iron Man more than once. At the end of Iron Man 3 he blew up his suits as a ceremonious ditching of the superhero persona, and just before the credits rolled on Avengers: Age Of Ultron he transitioned to more of an overseeing role (in supplying a HQ and funding for a new Avengers team to be lead by Captain America and Black Widow). Having Cap and Widow turn on him in Captain America: Civil War could well be the final straw for Tony. After this latest nice-thing-he€™s-tried-to-do blows up in his face just like all the others, Tony could see the mission to bring his former friends to justice as his last ever Iron Man project. This could have huge ramifications for the MCU€™s future. If Rhodey dies and Tony retires, have we seen the last of Iron Man altogether? Will Tony finally hand his tech over to the government and let them decided what to do with it? It certainly seems like a possibility. Everything Tony does seems to go wrong, so it makes sense that he€™ll now definitively give up on the responsibilities of being a superhero and get back to his lavish lifestyle and kicking back with Pepper Potts.
