Captain America: Civil War - 10 MCU-Shattering Outcomes That Fans Want To See

4. Spider-Man Unmasked

Peter Parker was at the epicentre of the Civil War comics. He began on the pro-government Stark-headed team before switching sides, although not before unmasking to the world€™s press as a way to exemplify his serious stance on superhero transparency. This event shook the Marvel Comics universe, and ended up putting Peter€™s loved ones in serious danger. Many are hoping that the Captain America: Civil War movie will follow this same path. Tom Holland€™s MCU Spidey is incredibly young (15, apparently) and therefore very malleable. Putting his faith in the government only for it blow up in his face, then, would seriously affect the character. That€™s not the kind of thing you can just shake off, so he€™d probably develop serious trust issues as a result. This would also be an interesting way to differentiate the MCU€™s Spider-Man from the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield versions that have come before. With the public and the press (and every villain) knowing his identity, the Spidey stories that follow Civil War would be very dissimilar to what€™s come before. After all, a world where everyone knows Peter is Spider-Man is rich with storytelling potential. Villains could easily find out his personal attachments, the press would always be on his back, and nobody at school would ever bully him again. Perhaps this is what we€™ll see in Jon Watts€™ 2017 Spider-Man movie.
