Captain America: Civil War - 10 Most Hyped Moments
2. Ant-Man
For fans of Paul Rudd's Ant-man, there was a very real concern that he would end up side-lined in favour of the grander action sequences and the older relationships. He is after all a new kid on the block and his stand-alone was markedly different from the rest of the MCU, so he could have been thrown an obligatory bone.
As Empire succinctly puts it: "Even Paul Rudds Ant-Man receives more than a tokenistic hey its him! cameo, and in spectacle terms at least, is given the films biggest scene."
Could there be any more of a thrillng thing to hear for Ant-Man fans than that? Wonderfully, it's not just a matter of Rudd fanboying over Cap or dropping quips - he actually has something substantial to do in the final battle as he and "Tom Hollands friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler and Rudds amazing miniature man who run away with the lions share of the battles memorable moments" according to Total Film.
That promise of key action in the finale is particularly great (especially given the rumours of a massive development) and anything that cements Ant-Man as an important MCU character before his sequel is entirely welcome.
