2. Team Cap Wins The War, Iron Man Dies
With most theorists acquiring and dissecting the Civil War comic as soon as the title of the third Captain America movie was announced, many have predicted that Steve Rogers will meet his end in one way or another just as he does in the original text. What if Marvel Studios have thrown us a huge curveball, however, and plan on totally flipping the ending around? Robert Downey, Jr. is now on a movie-by-movie rolling contract, and raking in as much as $50 million every time he puts on the Iron Man suit. Could Marvel Studios be working on a possible way out for RDJs Tony Stark, making room for new characters to bloom in Phase 3 and saving themselves some money in the process? With Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Spider-Man all scheduled for a solo debut, as well as a second and third entry in the Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor stories respectively, there are a lot of new names Marvel need to make room for. It would be a bold move, with fan-favourite Stark the most recognisable face on the current Marvel roster, though having him die as a martyr after he realises the error of his ways would be a good way to cap his contribution to the franchise. Of course, if interest was to wane with no more Iron Man then Doctor Strange would again be on hand to perform an emergency resurrection.
