4. Black Widow Switches Sides At The Last Moment
When Civil Wars promotional art was released and the two teams were revealed, many Marvel fans were left scratching their heads. The most surprising reveal of all was that Black Widow was going to side against Cap and her friend Hawkeye, both of whom she has formed a bond with over the course of the previous movies. It makes even less sense that she would be on board with Tony Stark when he looks set to side with the government, given her past employment at the KGB and her reluctance to let the Avengers take the wrap for the damage caused during their previous exploits. Regardless, the promotional artwork shows Natasha Romanoff suited and booted and standing with Team Stark, but where she will be standing when it is all said and done is another matter entirely. A double agent may seem like too obvious a plot twist, but Black Widow has the expertise and the motives to jump ship. She could quite easily go along for the ride with Iron Man while feeding information back to Cap, or even keep her true opinions hidden until the last moment and save Cap from the fate he suffered in the comic, winning the war for Rogers and keeping him alive for Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1.
