Captain America: Civil War - 10 Things You Need To Know
6. Black Panther Will Be Introduced
One of the more interesting elements of Civil War will be the introduction of long-awaited MCU inductee Black Panther, who will be starring in his own movie in November 2017, and will be getting a helping leg-up from Tony Stark and Captain America here. The enormously talented Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up) will be playing the part, and frankly, it's difficult to imagine an actor better suited for or more capable of living up to the part. Needless to say, the concept art shown off by Marvel Studios so far (pictured above) looks awesome, so it's a shame fans will have to wait another 3 years to see his movie come to cinema screens. For those who don't know much about the character, Black Panther is the first black superhero in mainstream American comic book history, and leads the fictional African country of Wakanda. Whether Wakanda will appear at all in Civil War will remain to be seen, though it's quite possible that Black Panther could end up taking over the masked superhero role that Spider-Man had in the original comic. While making that part work in lieu of Panther's lack of visibility among casual audiences would be a challenge, it's certainly not impossible. On the other hand, perhaps he's simply a supporting character on one side of the battle, and will then be left to his own devices until 2017 (where Wakanda will almost certainly show up in some form or another).
