Captain America: Civil War - 10 Ways It’s Already Torn Up The Comics

9. There Are Civilised Discussions Before War

Terse as the moment when Tony fantasises about punching Cap's perfect teeth is, it's one of the quieter moments between two men who have built on their initial friction and animosity to form a friendship and respect that made the Avengers tick as a team. This looks like it could be a pivotal scene in the breakdown of relations, but it's important to note that the only suit Tony is wearing is a well-tailored one. The original Civil War featured no such civilised behaviour. The first meeting between Cap And Tony took place amidst a battlefield truce after Iron Man lured Captain America's team into the open with a phoney emergency call, with the two meeting fully suited. We all know this cosy boardroom discussion won't end well, given how it'll probably take place before the war kicks off, but it does show that violence is a last resort for these characters onscreen.
