7. Bucky's Method Of Killing Revealed

When Bucky and Iron Man face off together in what looks like the lead up to the finale, Bucky shows off his particular method of trying to take down Stark. Presumably aware that he's badly mismatched with Stark's augmentations, Bucky tries to level the playing field by tearing out the arc reactor from Tony's chest (hopefully while aware that it's no longer attached to his actual flesh). It's a nice look at his fighting style in itself, but it also offers a clue to explain what has happened here...

Notice Rhodey's reactor has been torn out. Presumably this is how Bucky finds out that removing the battery puts the suit out of action, and while War Machine looks pretty peaky, he's probably only out of service with a few nasty bumps and bruises. After all, as Bucky says, he doesn't do that anymore.
