Captain America: Civil War - 14 Theories That Were Utter Bull

4. Tony Stark Creates Peter Parker's Web Shooters

The Rumour: Considering that Peter Parker is not only high school age but played by someone who actually looks high school age, it's pretty clear they're making him a more grounded character overall. So, his web shooters were made by Tony Stark, right?

How Much We Believed It: This one really could've gone either way: it's a staple of the character that he makes the web shooters himself, but at the same time the Tony-Peter link is just too delicious and tidy in terms of bringing Spidey into the MCU. We sat at neutral on this one. 5/10

The Truth: When Tony first meets Peter, he's already made the first generation of web shooters, much to Tony's surprise. When Tony asks how he made them, he explains that his accident from a few weeks prior granted him greater acuity in every aspect of his life.

Hilariously, when Tony goes to inform Aunt May of Peter's superhero identity (in an attempt to blackmail him into joining the airport battle), Peter shoots webbing on Tony's hand, gluing it to the door and rendering him immobile.

Considering that Tony then quickly rustles up a new version of the suit for Spidey, it's most likely that his webbing is also a Stark modification, but no, he did not merely gift the shooters to Peter. He came up with the idea and the prototype tech all by himself.
