The Rumour: Despite The Winter Soldier setting up Crossbones to be a major villain in the third Cap film, it didn't take long for word to come down that he would be a secondary villain, instead being saved for a much larger role in the Infinity War saga.

How Much We Believed It: Considering how awesome a villain Crossbones is and how great of an actor Frank Grillo is, there was no reason not to fall hook, like and sinker for this one. 7/10

The Truth: Rather disappointingly, Crossbones has less than 10 minutes of screen time, showing up in the movie's opening Lagos action sequence, then killing himself in a suicide bombing when Cap gets the better of him.

The only majorly significant result of Crossbones' death is that, as Scarlet Witch hurls him away from Cap, he flies through a building and the bomb explosion kills several people. How underwhelming.
