19. The Multiple Winter Soldiers

It turns out rather excitingly - initially anyway - that Bucky wasn't the only Winter Soldier recruit, with five more angry, muscle bound characters added to the programme after Buck stole some super soldier serum from Howard Stark.

They are trained under Karpov, but prove to be too unrefined (in a total Universal Soldier rip-off, actually) and attempt to kill everyone in sight. Bucky contains them and they're put on ice permanently.

The idea of multiple Winter Soldiers arc is very obviously based on Ed Brubaker's Winter Soldier comic arc, which has formed the basis for most of the Cap trilogy.
