27. The Trigger Event

There's been a lot of discussion heading up to release over how much the film would stick to the source material, with the general consensus that it was impossible to really be all that faithful. But as comic writer Mark Millar promised after he saw it, it does try.

In the comics, the New Warriors trigger event that accidentally leads to a major loss of innocent life after one of their targets explodes thanks to a mix of naivety and stupidity. Obviously that wasn't possible on screen as the New Warriors haven't actually been introduced yet, but the way Scarlet Witch attempts to contain Crossbones' suicide bomb blast and the subsequent collateral damage has exactly the same beats.

The fact that the world is watching in both cases also aligns them pretty close.
