Captain America: Civil War - 5 Minor Characters Who Will Become Really Important

1. Brock Rumlow

Rumlow is by far the most significant character on this list judging by the amount of screen time he€™s afforded in The Winter Soldier. He€™s due to become HYDRA henchman Crossbones at some point early on in Civil War, gaining the ability to generate energy beams and blast foes into next week with them. That, along with the fact that the foreshadowing of his importance to the franchise as Crossbones was so obvious - oh, I wonder why the camera is lingering so long on the badly burned body of this man who had only a tangential connection to the plot - might make you think that he€™s elevated above the €˜minor character€™ bracket. Well, you€™d be wrong. On the grounds that he doesn€™t really affect the action a great deal in The Winter Soldier - he€™s more like a stand-in punchbag for the Cap to work on while Alexander Pierce is busy doing other things - and as it€™s only implied at the very, very end of the film that his story isn€™t over, the average viewer wouldn€™t necessarily assume he was that big a deal. However, The Winter Soldier was, from the beginning, intended as an origins story for Crossbones, and as Grillo€™s already said: €œIt's obvious Rumlow is covered in rubble and burned to crisp at the end, but you see he's still there. They don't do that for no reason.€ Who do you think will be most important in Captain America: Civil War? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
