Captain America: Civil War - 6 Things We Learned From Team Cap On Jimmy Kimmel
Lube, pigeon wings and Ant-Man love...
Jimmy Kimmel is celebrating a massive Marvel week on his show, with appearances by the Civil War cast, Benedict Cumberbatch and Agents Of SHIELD's Clark Gregg all talking about their experiences making Marvel movies and TV shows. There've already been some great moments, particularly from Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and they've offered some unique insight into what it's like to be part of the MCU.
Some of the revelations were strange - that Chris Evans knows all of the words to the songs in The Little Mermaid, for instance - some, revelatory - that Paul Rudd's name was shorted by his family from Rudnitsky. But there were some little details in there that prove these publicity appearances are worth it for fans to watch too...
6. Chris Evans Turned Down Captain America A Couple Of Times
We've already heard some mention that Chris Evans wasn't entirely keen on the idea of playing Captain America when he was initially approached, but he went into more detail with Kimmel on that front.
He admits that he suffers from social anxiety around the industry and that the idea of a 9 picture deal would have robbed him out of the safety net of being able to walk away from films if he needed to. Eventually - after he said no "a few times" - he took advice from family and friends and decided it made sense not to turn something down simply out of fear.
