Captain America: Civil War - 8 Major Reveals From The New Images

1. Test Audiences Are Split

After mentioning that test audiences have responded well to Captain America: Civil War, Empire goes on to reveal that those lucky enough to have seen the movie early were pretty equally split between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. That's a lot different to the comic book version of the story which saw Iron Man portrayed as the antagonist, but the plan here is clearly to make the Armoured Avenger a more sympathetic character. "Hopefully you'll leave wondering if Steve and Tony are both acting in selfish interests," Robert Downey Jr. said when asked how he expects movegoers to respond to seeing these two friends turn on each other. Anthony Russo meanwhile adds that Stark's journey in the movie is "fascinating," adding: "Robert and Chris are incredible. The conflict between the two of them is incredibly emotional and it's beautifully played out." After writer Stephen McFreely mentioned how difficult it must have been for Tony growing up and constantly hearing about what a great man Captain America was from his father, Chris Evans agreed that that creates a sibling rivalry of sorts, "and with families that's where you have the most love but it's where you have the most struggle, too." So, it sounds like these two will be battling some serious daddy issues along the way...
