Captain America: Civil War - 8 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

2. Spider-Man Becomes A Casualty Of War

OK, so with a reboot coming in 2017, there's no way Captain America: Civil War kills off Spider-Man (unless of course they've secretly cast Miles Mor-nah, that's not happening!). However, it's certainly possible that Spider-Man will be the one to bring this conflict to an end. One possibility is that while the heroes are fighting among themselves, Peter Parker could be in the background saving the civilians from the destruction the battle between The Avengers has caused, something which makes all of these heroes see the error of their ways. What if Spider-Man saves Captain America from Crossbones though? His spider sense is obviously a major advantage, and him taking a bullet for Steve would be reminiscent of the Death of Peter Parker storyline which shook up the Ultimate line of comic books not too long ago. The sight of Spidey bleeding out after saving Captain America's life would be very memorable and shocking, even if it's later revealed to have just been a flesh wound. This would instantly establish Spider-Man as one of the bravest heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and helps him forge a relationship with The Avengers to boot. This scenario would be preferable to the character having little more than a glorified cameo anyway, and Spider-Man's actions playing a key role in ending the fight between the heroes would be a great way of surprising moviegoers by giving the wall-crawler arguably the most pivotal role in the movie which is set to introduce him as part of the MCU.
