Captain America: Civil War - 9 Rumours We Already Know Were Bullsh*t

7. The First Rogue One Trailer Will Debut With It

The Rumour: With no Rogue One trailer on the horizon, long past the point in the timeline of when we'd received a first teaser for The Force Awakens, it was widely reported that the first trailer would be attached to Captain America: Cvil War.

Given both Lucasfilm and Marvel are owned by Disney, this did make a fair bit of sense, especially as the months kept passing and no trailer arrived, not to mention that fact that Civil War is set to be one of the highest-grossing movies of the year, guaranteeing the teaser maximum exposure.

Why It's Bullsh*t: Well, we've already had the teaser. The first look at Rogue One landed, in all its Death-Star-completing, AT-ATs-on-a-beach glory, on April 7, a month before Civil War opens in the US. Rather than tying it to Civil War, this ensured the trailer got its own billing, and came just after the release of The Force Awakens, signalling the end of the Episode VII hype and the start of the Rogue One promotion. It meant we've had a couple of weeks of everyone talking about just Rogue One, and the trailer will still play before Civil War anyway.
