Captain America: Civil War - 11 Things That Definitely Won't Happen

9. A Superhero Assault

Thanks to Fox's annoying ownership of the Fantastic Four rights (despite their inability to actually make anything good of them), there won't be an opportunity for fans to see Johnny Storm get his comeuppance for being an arrogant douche-bag. In the comics, Storm is assaulted outside a nightclub because he's a superhero, and "his kind" have just killed 600 people. It all bears shades of tyrannical oppression of minorites (or at least, readers are supposed to make that leap), which is somewhat difficult to take when you think Storm could actually do with a bit of a kicking. Anyway, it's an impossible scene to recapture in the movie: and it's pretty superfluous. Fundamentally, there's no real reason to turn the everyday norms of the MCU against the hero: by making their ostracising a purely governmental matter (albeit propelled by fear), the film can save some valuable escalation time. The Alternative It seems fairly unlikely that any of the current MCU's roster of characters will be beaten up: their powers are too feared for them to suddenly become punch-bags, even if the two most powerful (Thor and Hulk) aren't going to be on the scene. Perhaps there'll just be a continuation of the anti-hero protests that have begun to manifest themselves in the wake of New York and Sokovia. Placards and banners are more believable in this version of the Marvel Universe than actual punching. Unless the Russos throw Hawkeye on the fire and let him take a few slugs.
