Captain America: Civil War - Ranking The Characters By Anticipation

3. Captain America

Last Seen: Getting ready to train the new Avengers team alongside Black Widow at the end of Age of Ultron. Chris Evans has been killing it as Captain America over the past few years, with his earnest performance going a long way in making the character - who could've easily been laughed off if not handled correctly back in 2011 - believable, noble, and, most importantly, relatable. Time and again, Cap hasn't had it easy, from being defrosted decades removed from the life he knew to living in a changed world filled with aliens and Asgardians to seeing his best friend turned into a monster to being betrayed by the very organization he had no choice but to try and trust, and all of it has carried weight because of Evans' performance. Civil War is rightfully a Captain America film first and foremost, and the Russo brothers have more than proven they understand the character with The Winter Soldier's creative success. Even with potential romance and his best friend back in his life, Cap's going to be put through the ringer watching all his friends fighting all around him, and it's easy to get excited over seeing how everything he believes in and stands for is challenged to its very core.
