17. Hawkeye

Last Seen: Back at home with his wife and kids at the conclusion of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Love them or hate them, the scenes at the Barton farmhouse in the Avengers sequel gave the team's archer some much-needed character depth. Hawkeye may not be the most popular Avenger in the roster, but Jeremy Renner seemed to genuinely be digging his screentime, and hopefully he'll be carrying that enthusiasm straight into Civil War. It's pretty easy to see why he's siding with Cap in the film considering he'd prefer to keep his home and family out of the public eye, but with so many more interesting characters filling up the film, Hawkeye's drawing the short straw in comparison to his friends and foes alike. At the very least, his inevitable clash with Natasha will hopefully feel like more than a retread of their fight in The Avengers, and if the above concept artwork makes it to the big screen, it'll undoubtedly make for one of the coolest moments in the entire MCU.
