8. It's "Fun"

If you've been paying attention to the early reviews online, you'll know that there is already a fanboy backlash at the idea that Civil War outstrips Batman v Superman because it's fun. According to a particular type of DC fanboy thinking, Marvel fans won't ever get the "more mature" DC films (particularly under Zack Snyder), because they seek more childish, disposably entertaining movies.

By the look of the early reactions and the hints of some seriously complex ideas in Civil War, that argument should now die. It is actually possible to be both "fun" and "weighty"; to explore grown-up ideas like politics, death, relationshop conflict and not have everyone walk around looking like they're sucking lemons.

Thank God Marvel haven't compromised on the overall feel of the MCU in order to take on those ideas. Kevin Feige promised there wouldn't be a major turn to the dark side, and it sounds like he's delivered.
