Captain America: Civil War Reviews - 12 Early Reactions You Need To Know

7. Zemo Is Subtle But Great

Quite how Baron Zemo will fit into Civil War has been one of the pre-release period's most pertinent questions. The fact that he's been entirely absent from the marketing material has only fuelled that intrigue more, but it does seem he was mostly well received by critics.

He's more subtle, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Having him taking way too much screen-time from the hero v hero battles - both physical and philosophical - would have been a mistake.

It seems that while he's a good villain, he's far from the most diverting thing in the film. Should it really be all that surprising that something with this much going on ended up having to compromise and not offering a scene-stealing villain to chew everything up like James Spader's Ultron?
