CAPTAIN AMERICA likely to have been decided

In quick succession, Michael Cassidy (via twitter) and Scott Porter (via facebook) announced late last week that they had been turned down for the role of Captain America which Joe Johnston begins filming in the U.K. in June. Previously, Johnston claimed he had until March 1st to find his man, so in all likely-hood Marvel know who they want, or at least are going back-and-fourth over two names. I would expect official casting announcement to hit this week. Those that have screen tested to play Steve Rogers but have yet to announce their rejection are;

John Krasinski from The Office, Mike Vogel from Cloverfield, Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl, Patrick Fleuger from The 4400, Garrett Hedlund from Tron Legacy.
My choice, IF IT HAD TO BE FROM ONE OF THOSE would be Vogel (who I have very much warmed to in Cloverfield and Texas Chainsaw Massacre redo - he has the Chris Pine gift of charisma and tough-guy masculinity that nearly won him the Kirk role) or Garret Hedlund, who will have an experience of the big time from Tron Legacy - and well, he kind of looks the part. I just don't think I could get away with John Krasinski from The Office as playing Cap. My favourite comment from a website talkback whilst I was reading this news (I can't remember which one it was) said; "If John Krasinksi is cast as Captain America, Red Skull has already won". Haha.
