Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 10 Ways It Beats Thor 2

3. The Pacing Is Near Enough Perfect

Marvel movies, in general, usually have their pacing down to a tee, but Thor: The Dark World was noticeably weak in the pacing department, mainly thanks to a) it's bizarrely convoluted plot that sort of forced you to zone in and out and b) it's bizarrely convoluted plot that sort of forced you to zone in and out. Sorry, zoned out there just trying to think about how the Aether works and what not. Though the pace picked up noticeably towards the end of the flick, a slow first half cemented the final product as something that ultimately felt a little all over the place. Could Captain America: The Winter Soldier be the best and most perfectly paced MCU installment to date? You could certainly argue that fact, given that - from the moment it starts to the moment it ends - there's not a single sequence in the entire movie that lags. If we're not playing witness to an epic action sequence (the special effects here are amazing, by the way), we're still moving towards an obvious end goal by way of a funny - but wholly relevant - scene, or a moment where our characters are given room to grow and develop. There really isn't an inch of fat on the whole thing - and that's saying something for a movie that runs at 136 minutes. The time flies by.
