Captain Marvel: 10 Best Moments

5. "My Name Is Carol"

Though the trailers did a rather corny job of cutting together clips of Carol falling down and rising back up throughout her life, it's thankfully a much more effective trick in the final film.

During Carol's climactic confrontation with the Supreme Intelligence, visualised to her through her mentor Mar-Vell, she's mockingly referred to as "only human" and knocked to the ground.

But of course, Carol manages to pull herself to her feet, intercut with clips of her tenaciously rising up from childhood through to the present day, before dismissing the name Vers and declaring, "My name is Carol."

Thanks to sharp editing and Pinar Toprak's emotive score, it's one of the few moments in the movie that truly nails the chest-thumping girl power vibe fans were craving.
