Captain Marvel: 10 Biggest Changes From The Comics

1. Mar-Vell

While the version of Mar-Vell that appeared in the movie may have fit the arc set out for Carol, the character is vastly different to the one we see in the comics.

As the name suggests, Mar-Vell was the original Marvel Comics incarnation of the Captain, starting a life on Earth after being abandoned there by fellow Kree Yon-Rogg (played by Jude Law on-screen).

During his time spent on our planet, the character assumed the name Lawson (similar to the film), struck up a relationship with Carol Danvers and acted as superhero until his surprisingly emotional demise at the hands of cancer in 1982. Oh, and if you hadn’t realised already, Mar-Vell is a ‘he’ in the comics.

Compare this to the ex-soldier scientist of the movie and the differences are pretty obvious.
