Captain Marvel: 10 Biggest Changes From The Comics
7. How Fury Lost His Eye
While the moment that saw Goose/Chewie scratch Fury's eye to such a degree that it was irreparable was undoubtedly humorous, it wasn't quite as dramatic as how it happened in the comics.
For the original Nick Fury (who is basically the same character you know from the MCU, but Caucasian), his eye was lost thanks to a piece of shrapnel gained during the second world war.
And more recently, for his son, Nick Fury Jr. (a character created to resemble the Samuel L. Jackson incarnation) had his eye cut out by assassins attempting to get some of the Infinity Formula flowing through his veins, the formula being the one that had given his father such a long life.
Finally, for the Ultimate version of the character (the one based off of Jackson that led to the actor being cast in the MCU) he lost his eye in an as a result of an attack on the convoy transporting Wolverine that he was a part of.
Maybe if we get a fourth comic book Nick Fury he'll have better luck keeping both his eyes intact.
