7. Is Jude Law The "Secret" Villain?

Until recently, the exact nature of Jude Law's role was kept under wraps and therefore intensely speculated about by fans, with rumours pointing to him playing Mar-Vell, the leader of Starforce.

But it was just recently confirmed that Law is in fact playing the part of Yon-Rogg, who in the comics was a villainous Kree commander responsible for Carol Danvers' superheroic transformation.

Given the MCU's tendency to only loosely adapt the comics, though, that's no guarantee we're going to see Carol's mentor perform a heel turn during the movie.

What's most likely is that Yon-Rogg ends up compromised and his identity assumed by the Skrulls, making him a secondary antagonist for Carol behind Skrull leader Talos (Ben Mendelsohn).

It's doubtful that Law has a particularly big role in the movie outside of the first act, but a surprise Skrull-induced appearance later on, perhaps after he's assumed dead during Carol's initial crash to Earth, seems highly probable.
