10. Nick Fury Is A Skrull

The Rumour: A ludicrously persistent rumour stated that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) would be revealed as a Skrull imposter at some point in the movie.

Silly though this might sound, it has a more credible backing than most of the film's more outlandish rumours, what with Samuel L. Jackson himself posting a picture to Instagram of him getting a plaster cast of his face.

After all, why else would a cast be needed other than if Jackson himself would be disappearing underneath some Skrull makeup?

The Truth: The movie as a whole does surprisingly little with the paranoia-filled potential of the Skrulls' abilities, and no, Fury is not a Skrull nor is he impersonated by a Skrull at any point in the movie.

We're left to assume that the lifecast was most likely a reference for the VFX department, but even then, it's a bit strange. Jackson probably knew exactly what he was doing when he posted it, though (especially with the plaster being coloured green).
