Captain Marvel Talos
Marvel Studios

Everyone's favourite Flerken Goose may have stolen every scene he was in, but Ben Mendelsohn's Talos was equally as brilliant.

A through and through villain in the comics, Talos is reimagined in Captain Marvel as a rebel determined to free his people from the boot of Kree oppression, and he's incredibly charismatic while doing so. However, when Carol and Fury arrive at Maria Rambeau's home, Talos arrives as a villain, and his intimidation tactics are remarkably similar to those deployed by Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction, which was released in 1994.

Pulp Fiction Jules Sipping
Miramax

Entering the house, Talos can be seen sipping on a paper cup in a way not all that dissimilar to the way Jules does it in Quentin Tarantino's nineties opus. Tenuous? Perhaps, but the way in which Mendelsohn's alien sips on his cool, refreshing beverage was always going to draw comparisons.
