10. It's Not Pronounced "Marvel"

At no point do we actually here Carol referred to as Captain Marvel and honestly, it's hard to see how they're going to pull that off now that Mar-Vell has been rewritten so much and is no longer the source of Carol's powers. But we do get a gag around the pronunciation of Mar-Vell that is silly and completely disposable though, so that more than makes up for it, right?

When Nick Fury and Danvers discuss Mar-Vell, he mispronounces it Marvel in a moment so cringe-inducingly self-congratulatory that it'll send your eyes spinning into the back of your head. It's just completely unnecessary and it pulls you out of the film's immersive experience entirely. But hey, it raised a few smiles.
