Captain Marvel: 9 MCU Characters Who Could Appear

Rhodey has been a mainstay of the MCU since its inception, the character surviving his own recasting from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle between the first and second Iron Man films. He's become an Avenger, paid a terrible price during the events of Civil War, and demonstrated his loyalty to his friends time and again, including going against General Ross' orders in order to join his allies in taking a stand against Thanos in Infinity War.

Despite appearing in six movies now, though, it feels like we still don't know Rhodey too well. In the Iron Man films, he was always understandably overshadowed by the titular hero, while in his roles in Age of Ultron, Civil War, and Infinity War, his characterization was at the mercy of being surrounded by an ever-growing cast. That said, between the fact he was, like Carol, an Air Force pilot and the fact that he and Carol were a thing in the comics, having Rhodey make an appearance in Captain Marvel seems like a good bet.

Considering it's Carol's movie, however, a role for Rhodey should - like the other characters on this list - not serve to overshadow her own journey. At most, he should have a cameo or minor role early on, left to be unaware of the Kree/Skrull war or that Carol becomes Captain Marvel, something that could play well if they meet again in Avengers 4.
