Captain Marvel Trailer: 5 Things We Want To See

Yes, there's a hero called Mar-Vell. In fact, he was the original Captain Marvel before the mantle was passed to Carol Danvers when she was Ms. Marvel. Superheroes, eh? He's a Kree warrior who was originally sent to Earth by the Kree Empire to determine whether or not the human race could threaten them in any way. But he ended up jumping into battle to defend us wearing his uniform and eventually became one of the Avengers.

As part of her origin story, Carol was caught in the explosion when a Kree machine was destroyed (the Psycho-Magnetron, obviously), causing her genetic information to be crossed with Mar-Vell's. This gave Carol her photon powers, flight, super strength and incredible durability.

Jude Law is playing Mar-Vell alongside Brie Larson - but whether or not we'll see him on Earth as his undercover identity Walter Lawson is another question entirely. Hopefully, the trailer gives us a brief tease of the events leading up to Carol getting her powers (although we doubt she'll go by Ms. Marvel at any point).

And from the EW preview we know that Mar-Vell will at least be wearing the green military outfit, so we're definitely going to see Jude Law in action.
