Cary Joji Fukunaga: Everything You Need To Know About Bond 25's Director
3. He Has Directed Multiple Critically Acclaimed Films
Despite having a fairly brief filmography, Fukunaga’s record for directing acclaimed films is almost unparalleled with all of his films to date receiving praise from audiences and critics alike.
Both his directorial debut Sin Nombre, which upon its debut at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival won awards for both directing and cinematography, and his 2011 follow-up project Jane Eyre received critical acclaim.
Following his work directing the first season of HBO's 2014 anthology series True Detective, Fukunaga returned with his Netflix original Beasts of No Nation, based on Uzodinma Iweala's book of the same name.
Beast of No Nation was received positively and nominated for a host of awards for both the film and its cast, which included Idris Elba and featured the debut of Abraham Attah, who won the Venice International Film Festival's Marcello Mastroianni Award for emerging talent.
